Our official history says that the first batch of Trappist Preserves was made from some mint growing in our herb garden and that it was made by Br John Berchmans. But there’s a small group of monks who say that this completely false, and that true story is that the first batch was made from a bunch of Concord grapes growing wild on North Hill. Of course, the mint jelly crowd calls these monks, “heretics” which makes this the only heretical Grape Jelly in the world.
